Carolyn Olsen (Senior Advisor/Director)

Born and raised in the Grande Prairie area, Carolyn is a pillar of the community and has a vast knowledge of the business community in the Peace Country. 

Carolyn has been involved in the Insurance Industry for over 20 years and with her immense experience decided to open her own fully licensed brokerage in 2010 servicing both Alberta and British Columbia. Carolyn is well versed in all parts of the industry and loves helping families attain their goals and assisting fellow business owners as they grow their companies.

As a proud mother Carolyn is deeply passionate about family and loves watching as it continually expands. Carolyn loves a full house so when she isn’t shopping the market for her clients she can often be found creating delicious meals to entertain family and friends with. Trust us when we say she has never heard a complaint over her cooking. Carolyn loves to travel as much as she loves to cook so you can bet that if there is a hot spot on this planet she has experienced it. 



Mike Comis (Senior Advisor)


Mike moved to Grande Prairie at the ripe age of 11 months and has stayed here ever since. He began his career in the Insurance and Investment Industry over 25 years ago and when Advanced Insurance Benefits opened in 2010 he joined the team. Mike is a great asset to the business with a well-rounded and vast knowledge in both individual and group insurance. 

Mike is a proud father and incredible role model to his children. Mike is an avid Car Enthusiast who thoroughly enjoys rebuilding cars, detailing them and showing them off. He is the founder of the Model Racers Association in South Bear Creek, where he started it with his boys; it is the only track in Northern Alberta. 

Mike is an incredibly witty guy and a real joy to have at the office, he can lighten any mood. Mike has quite the knack for carpentry which comes in handy when his wife hands him the honey-do list. When he isn’t hard at work or building something he can be found kicking his feet up enjoying the casual cigar and grilling up a mean steak. 



Courtney Olsen (Office Manager/Advisor)

Born and raised in Grande Prairie, Courtney understands the many wonderful qualities and opportunities this city has to offer. Having worked in the insurance & investment industry since 2010 she continues to provide exceptional customer service as both an Office Manager and Insurance & Financial Advisor. 

Being a young entrepreneur herself she has taken particular interest in helping other entrepreneurs grow their business. Above all else she recognizes the security insurance brings to young families just starting out and feels immense pride knowing she’s helped these families plan for their future.

Courtney is passionate about animal welfare and loves donating her time and money to local animal rescues. When she isn’t spending time with her furry friends she can be found enjoying quality time with her family or cruising around on her bike with friends. 

Courtney has a keen eye for photography and loves to travel so naturally the two go hand in hand which is witnessed in her ever growing portfolio.



Devon Potter (Advisor)

Devon is a fully licensed Insurance and Financial Advisor. She sees the value in each individual setting themselves up for financial success and peace of mind for their future and it shows in her enthusiastic approach to the business.

A member of this community for the past 20 years, Devon has planted firm roots and enjoys giving back to the community that has given her so much over the years. She is the Past President of the Rotaract Club, member of the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie After Five with a passion for community service and activism. She is also an Alumnus of the Grande Prairie Regional College with a Diploma in Theatre and performance Specialization and it shows in her creative outlook on life. 

When she is not at work or busy with community events Devon can often be found soaking up the sun with friends, or enjoying a nice dinner with family.



Meghan Furgeson (Administrative Assistant)


Meghan is the newest member of the Advanced team. She brings to the table her experience in banking and child care so she understands the importance of helping clients in a timely and thorough manner.  She is enthusiastic about helping clients to meet their everyday needs and keep their experience as streamlined and smooth as possible.

Meghan is passionate about self care and the importance it plays in one’s overall well-being. She co-owns a local all natural product line called Ellie Rose Naturals and enjoys sharing her passion with fellow, likeminded people. 

After work she can be found spending time with her husband Brett and their adorable dog Milo, or enjoying family time and being the best auntie ever to her adorable Nieces and Nephews.
